Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Therapy sessions from an encounter group during a summer camp for teenagers have been filmed and then edited for this documentary on the nature of prejudice. The counselors tend to play by the book, asking the usual questions of the teens in a manner that does not brook much originality or opposition. In this environment of "encouraging the right response," it is sometimes exactly the wrong responses that give some comic relief, even when one might not agree with their sentiment. When a few of the teens reveal in very emotional segments that they have been raped, human sympathy is automatic -- but the filmmakers' willingness to visually dwell on these unfortunate moments may seem like an unwarranted invasion of privacy for some viewers.
