James Whitmore guest stars as Hertzbrun, a German officer on a mission to blow up an American-held bridge. Wounded in a skirmish, Hertzbrun takes refuge in a local church. When Saunders (Vic Morrow and his men enter the area, they are effusively greeted by a French priest--actually a disguised Hertzbrun, determined to finish the job he started right under the noses of the enemy!
