synopsis
Deep behind enemy lines, Saunders (Vic Morrow) and his squad find an abandoned baby in a bombed-out farmhouse. The men want to take the infant back to the American lines, but Saunders coldly refuses, knowing all too well that the kid will slow them down and result in unnecessary casualties. Ultimately, however, the sergeant relents, and the men begin seeking out a safe place to deposit the baby--an assignment that relies heavily upon squad member Caje's fluency in French.
