Code of the Yukon (1919)

Synopsis by Janiss Garza
This story of the Canadian Northwest doesn't have much credibility. It's the typical scenario about rough men, fast women, and the search for gold. The protagonist here is French Canadian Jean Dubois (Mitchell Lewis). There are two women in his life -- his wife and a cabaret singer. There's the villain, Dan Cregan (Tom Santschi), and the men who want to jump Dubois' claim. Some of the plot twists are implausible, to put it mildly. For example, in a vicious battle between hero and villain, Dubois is about to give Cregan the fatal blow, but a bolt of lightning conveniently does the job for him! With situations like this, it was a good thing that Code of the Yukon had some nice scenery.
