When Dick Bristow (J. Warren Kerrigan) finds copper on land that he owns in South America, he tries to get funding to mine it from railroad magnate Julian Marr (Herschel Mayall). But Marr turns him down and instead he gets the money from a rich friend, Tony DeBoer (Edward Hearn). After obtaining an option on the adjoining land from Marr, the two men go to work. But Marr discovers the true value of his property and tries to get back the option by kidnapping Bristow. Bristow manages to escape from his captors and reaches Marr's home just before the option expires. He is shot in a fight, but while he is unconscious Marr's ward, Janet Ashley (Fritzi Brunette), makes sure the sale goes through. When Bristow wakes up, he finds himself owner of the land, and also in possession of Janet's heart.
