Synopsis by Sean Hurley

In the six-part Climate and Man series, producers Films for the Humanities and Sciences deliver an in-depth exploration of the critical relationship existing between Earth's climate and the success or failure of every species existing on the planet. In Danger Ahead: Is There No Way Out, some solutions to the problem of the proliferation of greenhouse gases are examined. Even with an eye toward reducing greenhouse gases, experts explain that there is no way to avoid the release of a significant amount of these gases, as they result naturally from the biological processes of the Earth itself. Working from this reality, a variety of options are posited to help alleviate the problem. Harnessing the energy of the wind and sun, energy conservation, preservation of the rainforest, and even nuclear power are suggested as ways we can minimize human output of greenhouse gases.
