Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Clara Kimball Young stars as Mary Saurin, a British gentlewoman who journeys to South Africa to visit her district-commissioner brother Dick (Henry Woodward). Upon arriving, she is introduced to Major Anthony "Kim" Kinsella (Milton Sills), the most important and influential Army officer in the region. Falling in love with Kinsella, Mary agrees to marry him, but he is apparently killed in a native uprising. Maurice Stair (Jack Holt), Kinsella's rival for Mary's affections, tells the grieving heroine that he, Stair, had been asked to look after her in Kinsella's absence. Accepting Stair at face value, Mary becomes his wife, only to discover that Kinsella is still alive -- and that Stair knew it all the time.
