War is hell -- especially in high school -- in Mark Lester's unapologetic exploitation film starring Perry King as Andrew Norris, an energetic teacher with good intentions, who happens to find himself at a high school that is a battle zone. Coming to Abraham Lincoln High School, Norris has lofty goals that are quickly shattered when he sees the students frisked for weapons, teachers concealing weapons for protection, and security guards monitoring every movement in the school through video cameras. The school is in thrall to a vicious teenage gang headed by Peter Stegman (Timothy Van Patten). The gang not only controls the high school but also runs a drug and prostitution ring. Norris refuses to give in to Stegman's intimidation, even when his life is threatened, his car is vandalized, and then fire-bombed. Fearlessly, he even reports Stegman to the principal when he walks into Stegman conducting a drug deal in boy's room of the high school.
