Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

The Civil War remains the bloodiest war in the history of the United States, as the North and South of the land engaged in a pitched battle over ideas and territory. Economics and slavery were two of those issues that rent the fabric of a nation and turned brother against brother. This series chronicles some of the key moments in the war's four-year progression. Manassas, VA, was the site of two major battles during the early years of the war. This volume chronicles the battle there in 1861, when troops from the North and South struggled for control of the railroad junction located in Manassas.
