Two powerful forces square off on the A&E program City Confidential: Newberry, SC. The Beckhams and Landers were both well-respected families in this historic Southern community. William Beckham was a Bishop and James Lander a State Senator. When their children, Stephen and Vickie, fused the clans in marriage, the future looked bright. That all ended when Vickie turned up dead in 1994. The police quickly arrested a local heavy, but it took another year before the killer implicated Vickie's own husband as the mastermind behind the death. Investigators relive the confusing days before they caught the murderer and describe their eventually successful techniques. Through trial footage and interviews with those involved on both sides, A&E picks apart the fight that divided a town.
