Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Populated by lush vineyards and hidden picturesque beaches, Lopez Island is hardly the sort of place criminals live. Yet, A&E unveils an unexpected murder in the heart of Puget Sound in City Confidential: Lopez Island -- Foul Play on the Friendly Isle. On this suburban island, everyone knows everyone. Ruth Neslund was especially recognizable because she ran the local B&B. Her husband was often gone on oceanic missions, giving Neslund a sense of independence. It was when he lost his job that the marriage took a wrong turn. Fighting escalated within the house -- a fact not lost on the small, close-knit community -- and before long, Rolf Neslund disappeared. Ruth claimed he flew to Norway, but prosecutors disagreed and held her accountable for the murder. A&E investigates the scandal that created a dark moment in Washington history.
