synopsis
Christine was adapted from a play by Arthur Schnitzler, first filmed by Max Ophuls as Leibelei in 1933. The star of the 1959 version is Romy Schneider, daughter of Magda Schneider the leading lady in the Ophuls version. Romy plays an aspiring young singer who is courted by a handsome young lieutenant (Alain Delon) in 19th century Vienna.
