This minor exploitation effort from Hong Kong filmmaker Billy Tang is a standard prison film which will nonetheless have some interest for Asian genre buffs due to the presence of popular actor Tony Leung. Leung plays Chin Ahn, an investigative journalist who gets fired after the corrupt cops whom his articles expose begin to lean on his editors. That's when the major focus of his reporting, Officer Chiang Yiu-joe (Ben Ng), frames Ahn for drug possession and he is sent to prison. Inside, the usual scenario plays out like a male version of Chained Heat, as Ahn is beaten, caned, nearly raped, and so forth. Naturally, there is a sadistic warden on hand who is involved in numerous illegal activities, and Ahn eventually earns some respect among his fellow prisoners and starts having his reports on conditions within the institution smuggled out to his old newspaper. Pinky Cheung leads an above-average supporting cast including Elvis Tsui, Ng Man-tat, Law Kar-ying, and Ben Lam.
