Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Madame Dufrane (Jennie Lee) is the head of a family of Apaches, members of the Paris underworld. When one of her sons is arrested, she pleads for mercy, but the judge (Carl Stockdale) turns a deaf ear. In retaliation, the other son steals the judge's little girl, and she is brought up to be a thief. As a young woman, the girl, Julie (Mae Marsh), steals a scarf pin from a young American artist (Robert Harron). Nevertheless, a romantic relationship develops between them. He saves her from the Apaches' wrath -- they consider her a traitor -- and the pair become engaged. Although this film was directed by Lloyd Ingraham, it shows the subtle influence of his boss at the time, D. W. Griffith.
