Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This drama was the first Metro picture for stage star Irene Fenwick. Alita (Fenwick) has been raised in the swamps, and now that she is a young woman, her caretakers contact her guardian, Judge Gates (Roy Applegate), who makes arrangements to have her properly educated. Meanwhile, his friend Bob Strange (Robert Elliott), a confirmed woman-hater, capitulates long enough to marry Constance (Gana Walska), who he quickly finds out is a fortune hunter. The lighthearted Alita falls for Stange, and Strange believes he has finally found a girl he can love and trust. But he's still tied to Constance, and when Alita finds out he is married, she runs off. Along the way, Constance discovers that Alita is her daughter from a long-ago marriage. Her better nature is awakened, and she goes to her death so she won't stand in the way of her daughter's happiness. Strange locates Alita in the swamps, and the pair are reconciled.
