synopsis
Admiral William J. Crowe, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff when this episode first aired in 1989, appears as himself. Stood up by his date at a fancy dinner party, ex-ballplayer Sam (Ted Danson) nonetheless has a wonderful evening when he befriends Admiral Crowe -- who happens to be a big fan of Sam. Back at Cheers a few hours later, Rebecca (Kirstie Alley), who'd attended the same party, thinks that someone has stolen her diamond earrings -- and is convinced that the admiral is the thief.
