Chasing Holden (2001)
by Buzz McClain review

This middling drama with "disease of the week" aspirations leaks all over itself. Neil is more pathetic than sympathetic, and why the gorgeous T.J., who could have any guy in the school, finds him appealing is beyond the obvious. On the plus side, the production values are very good, with convincing sets -- snowy countryside, ivy-covered school, gritty mid-town Manhattan -- and passable performances by the principals that may keep 19-year-old angst-ridden drama fans riveted. But for anyone else, the conflicted story and trite seen-it-before plot turns will cause as much simpering at home as on the screen.
