Desiring privacy, newlyweds Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Leo (Brian Krause) decide to move out of the Halliwell's manor, leading Piper and her sisters to recall an incident that occurred before they were the Charmed Ones. But there's more to the plotline than a mere flashback: the demon Shadow (Earl Brown), whom each of the Halliwell girls had previously fought and vanquished, suddenly reappears and demands to take the girls on all over again. It turns out that the Shadow will become all-powerful if he is killed nine times; thus, the Halliwells take great pains not to kill him again!
