Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Re-discovered during the production of John Dullaghan's 2003 documentary Bukowski: Born into This, Dennis B. Del Torre's videotaped account of the poet's last reading outside of the United States sat in the Bukowski's archives for nearly twenty-five years before finally being released to the public. The year was 1979. Del Torre had arranged a screening of a recent Bukowski appearance for his friends when he realized, to his horror, that the tape of the performance did not exist. Determined to capture on of Bukowski's readings on camera for posterity, Del Torre invited the writer back to Vancouver. Much to his delight, Bukowski accepted. Later, at an old hall in the Downtown Eastside on Hastings Street, a crowd of 650 people gathered to see what would few at the time suspected would be an historical performance, Del Torre's video camera rolling to capture the entire evening for posterity. Now, for the first time ever, Bukowski fans can own that performance for themselves, and revisit the author's spoken word any time they wish.
