Chance at Heaven (1933)
by Hans J. Wollstein review

Based on a 1932 novel by Vina Delmar, Chance at Heaven is a study in tedium that not even Ginger Rogers can save. Especially not Miss Rogers, who under normal circumstances would never have stood idly by while her man marries another girl. But, alas, the Ginger of Chance at Heaven is a creature far removed from the Ginger audiences know and love, the vivacious, no-nonsense blonde who could sing "We're in the Money" in pig Latin and tread the light fantastic with Fred. Joel McCrea is not the Joel of old, either, but something of a cad. The screenplay begs you to root for this strange and uncomfortable Mr. McCrea, but that is a tall order.
