Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Corruption and crime connects a disparate array of people living in contemporary Mexico in this episodic drama from Alejandro Gamboa and Carlos Carrera. In "El Torzón," pals Alfonso and Álvaro are smoking a joint in their car when they are confronted by a shady cop who threatens them both with jail should they fail to pay him off within the hour. "Vida Exprés" follows a penny-pinching husband as he races to pay the ransom that will ensure the safe return of his beloved wife, and "Barbacoa De Chivo" tells the tale of a father who steals a valuable church painting to buy medicine for his dying daughter, and causes a university professor to be lynched by religious zealots after getting caught in the act. The concluding tale, "Comida De Perros" reveals just how wrong a robbery can go when the intended victims refuse to be intimidated.
