Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A dying woman becomes an Internet pariah when a video of her mistreating an elderly bus passenger is circulated online by an ambitious reporter in this thriller from writer/director Chen Kaige (Sacrifice, The Promise). Successful Ye Lanqiu (Gao Yuanyuan) has just been diagnosed with advanced lymphatic cancer when she stumbles dazed from her doctor's office onto a crowded city bus. Lost in thought and devastated emotionally, she fails to hear the driver repeatedly request that she relinquish her seat to an elderly passenger in need of rest. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Ye, ambitious young journalist's assistant Chen Ruoxi (Yao Chen) has captured the entire exchange on her mobile phone. When Chen uploads the video to the web, it quickly goes viral, sparking a blistering campaign of hate against the afflicted young woman. Dubbed "Sunglasses Girl" by the vengeful public, Ye subsequently becomes the victim of a blistering campaign of hate as her career crumbles and she prepares for treatment. Later, when Ye and Chen come face to face, the volatile situation threatens to become an outright tragedy.
