synopsis
A Glasgow bus driver falls in love with an enigmatic, tormented Nicaraguan refugee. In a desperate bid to break through her impenetrable barriers, he returns to Central America with her. As the two travel across the ravaged nation, the bus driver is deeply shocked by the death and destruction wrought by the civil war waged by the Contras against the Sandinistas. Much of the ensuing drama functions to castigate the United States for their financial support of the Contras.
