synopsis
Both color and black-and-white photography are used to tell the tale of a jeweler who becomes obsessed with his creations. Cardillac is the craftsman and goldsmith who sells his objects then becomes possessed with reacquiring them. Cardillac will even kill to get the precious jewelry back into his hands.
