You know you're watching a cheap Western when the lead heavy employs only two henchman. Happily, the impoverished villain in Canyon Raiders is played by I. Stanford Jolley, whose New Jersey accent may be somewhat out of place in the wild and woolly West but who can always be counted on delivering the goods. Jolley is as sneering as always here and is well served by the two henchmen he can afford, Marshall Reed and Riley Hill. A subplot concerning Fuzzy Knight's troubles with a card shark (Bill Kennedy) provides a bit of comedy relief to the otherwise fairly dour proceedings.
