The ceremonial routines of the lives of U.S. residents of the Canal Zone are featured in this 1977 documentary. Without commentary, this film shows such typical gatherings as a Boy Scout Dinner or a high school graduation. Documentary director Frederick Wiseman is perhaps best known for his groundbreaking 1967 study of life in a mental hospital, Titicut Follies.
