Although the premise of a lone male surrounded by gorgeous wannabe cheerleaders would seem to lend itself to rampant ribaldry, the weekly MTV series Camp Jim was more amusing and touching than titillating. Series host Jim McMullen, a veteran trainer of high school, college, and professional cheerleaders, presided over a two-week session of intensive training with 15 potential pom-pom girls. If nothing else, the series was a veritable encyclopedia of "inside" cheerleading terminology and health-and-fitness advice. Camp Jim shouted its first "rah-rah-yay-team" on October 13, 2003.
