Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This mediocre, slow-moving program drama with its cast of unknowns sunk into obscurity almost as soon as it was released. Orphan girl Violet (Maud Malcolm) is the ward of the worthless Ben Kruger (Robert Broderick). Kruger hopes to marry Violet off to bootlegger Jed Keith, but Violet doesn't even want to fetch whiskey from him. Kruger starts to give her a beating for her disobedience, but she is rescued by a nice, elderly couple who adopt her. They send her off to boarding school to get a proper education and a wealthy young man who is a family friend proposes marriage. But Jed Keith still wants Violet for himself and tries to interfere by telling stories about the girl's past. They are all lies, however, as proved by Kruger. On his deathbed, he makes a confession about Violet's early years that reveal she is a perfectly suitable mate for her rich fiancé.
