After Billy West's studio, King Bee, closed down, Oliver Hardy and Charley Chase (then known by his real name, Charles Parrott) went to work for Henry Lehrman's comedy factory, L-KO. This two-reeler was one of the first of a handful they made for the studio (together and separately) before 1918's influenza epidemic virtually shut down Hollywood for several weeks. Hardy plays a "blind" man who begs for change, along with his son (Eddie Barry), who is dressed up like a woman. Not far away is yet another con artist, appropriately named Willie Steal (Harry Gribbon), who places a "for sale" sign on a random parked car. A woman (Mae Emory) and her daughter (Helen Lynch) want to buy the car and hand Steal a down payment. They ask him to come by to pick up the rest later, but before they leave, they see the blind man and invite him into their home. At the woman's house, both Steal and the blind man discover that she has a safe full of gold, and they spend the remainder of the film trying to get their hands on it.
