synopsis
This experimental movie contrasts the personal film diary of director Holly Fisher with the situation endured by Maine smokehouse workers, the musings of Western authors on the entirely mythical character of the West in popular imagination, classical paintings, and excerpts from director John Ford's classic film My Darling Clementine. Reviewers imagined that the film might be a meditation on the contrast between myths and reality but found its speedy music-video-like flickering between images confusing, and they were unable or unwilling to classify it as a documentary.
