Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

The inspirational story of the Tennessee Valley Authority serves as the subject of this documentary examining how the people who lived in a land ravaged by flood ultimately found their salvation in water. Set up by the United States Congress in 1933, the TVA was founded to promote "agricultural and industrial development" in the region while providing electric power, reducing the risk of flood damage, and improving navigation on the Tennessee River. Decades later, the TVA has evolved into a federal corporation as well as the nation's largest public power supplier.
