Synopsis by Mark Deming
Percussionist Bill Bruford (best known for his work with King Crimson) and pianist Michiel Borstlap (who has collaborated with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock) stretch the boundaries of both jazz and progressive rock in this concert video, recorded during a pair of 2002 performances in Holland. Bill Bruford/Michiel Borstlap: In Concert in Holland features these master musicians improvising on a set of 12 songs; selections include "Game of Chess," "Two Left Shoes," "Peacock Strut," "Mister B.B.," and "Round Midnight."
