Synopsis by Mark Deming
This two-part documentary pays tribute to some of the great songwriters of the Broadway stage and Hollywood musicals. Alan Jay Lerner, whose credits as a lyricist include My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, Gigi, and Camelot, sings songs and shares stories of his life in show business. Later, the team of John Kander and Fred Ebb take center stage and discuss their working methods as they helped create such classic shows as Cabaret and Chicago.
