synopsis
Harry Joe Brown, who later teamed with Randolph Scott and director Budd Boetticher for a series of memorable westerns, produced and directed the silent melodrama Broadway Billy. Billy Sullivan plays Billy Brookes, a boxer who makes it to the big time. Billy marries a luxury-loving young lady, played byViriginia Brown Faire. To support his wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed, Billy nearly has his brains bashed out. Only when she is injured in a car accident does Virginia regard Billy as anything more than a dollar sign.
