Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Bridge of Sighs was intended to capitalize upon the brief celebrity of one Jeff Davis, the self-styled "King of Hoboes." Playing himself, Davis makes his first appearance at the railyards, trying to dissuade a fellow hobo from turning to a life of crime. He later offers aid to an indigent young woman, whose invalid mother is in dire need of medicine. Unfortunately, the girl decides to take the "easy route" to quick money by dressing in men's clothing and joining a criminal gang. While thus occupied, she meets and falls in love with the bum whom Davis tried to help in the first reel. Both boy and girl decide to reform, with Davis arranging to find work for them before disappearing into the night in search of new adventures.
