Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
The beautiful photography of Tomislav Pinter often overshadows the tragicomic plot in Breza. A young woman named Janica is considered to be the most beautiful among the villagers. An elderly woodsman introduces Janica to a young gamekeeper named Marko. The couple is married and a baby is added to the family, but Janica's happiness is short-lived when her baby dies and she is stricken by a life-threatening illness. This film from director Ante Babaja takes satirical jabs at peasant life and socialism.
