Viola Dana stars in this horse racing drama. When her father dies, Katie (Dana) is left with a run-down estate, a lot of debts, and a racehorse. In an attempt to scrape together some money, Katie mortgages her home and bets the money on her horse. The wealthy Dennis Reilly (Jerry Miley) also has a horse in the race, and his jockey, who is part of a betting ring, rams his horse into hers. Katie's horse is injured and has to be shot. Unaware that Reilly wasn't involved in the scheme, Katie swears revenge. She befriends a dishonest bookie whose associate has a worthless steed that is the brother of Reilly's horse. They all plan to bet against Reilly's horse, which they will switch with its brother. As her part of the scheme, Katie makes friends with Reilly -- but realizes that he had no idea his jockey was crooked. She switches the horses back and, after writing a note explaining everything, she runs away. Reilly hunts her down and convinces her to return with him.
