Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Director Edward A. Mason of the Harvard Medical School interviews the children of holocaust survivors in four Boston families in this informative documentary shown on American television during the Holocaust Remembrance Week in 1984. These interviews are supplemented by historical footage and still photos. Feelings of anger, alienation, and guilt emerge as the adult children address the gap that separates them from their parents' experience in World War II. To further explore the problems of these "children of the holocaust," various psychologists discuss the special needs of first and second generation survivors of atrocities.
