Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
Czech filmmaker Karel Spevácek makes his feature debut as a writer/director with the black comedy Brak (Trash), inspired by American independent films of the early '90s. Teenage friends Petr (Jan Plouhar), Honza (Vladimír Skultéty), and Karel (Ondrej Nosálek) throw a party while their parents are away. When they decide to phone up a call girl, Nicole (played by porn star Paula Wild), she ends up dying from a drug overdose. Getting rid of the body before the parents come home is stalled by the stream of eccentric house guests, including the landlady (Barbora Stepánova), a hit man (Jiri Korn), and Nicole's pimp Iggy (Michal Viktorik). Trash was shown at the 2003 Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
