Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Original images and sounds from the early-1960s form the foundation of director René Fortunado's study of the military coup d´etat that overthrew the Bosch government in the Dominican Republic. It was a time of unprecedented change in the world: John F. Kennedy was in the White House, and American foreign policy was being transformed. But what was the relationship between the American government and the militaries that enforced their interests overseas? As the story of popularly elected Dominical Republic President Juan Bosch unfolds, the answers to these troubling questions slowly come into focus.
