Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Two Britons - celebrated film actor Ewan McGregor and his brother Colin, a veteran RAF pilot - created this historical documentary that profiles the RAF Bomber Command during World War II. The film travels back to the period of 1939-45, when Allied governments regarded air strikes as the most effective way of countering Nazi Germany. Accordingly, thousands of young recruits joined bomber crews, and became known as "The Bomber Command." Sadly, many were killed, but still others learned teamwork, camaraderie and endurance and practiced feats of stunning courage. This film tells their still-controversial tale.
