Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This tense melodrama, directed by film pioneer J. Stuart Blackton, was based on a story by Cyrus Townsend Brady. When Eugene Solari (William R. Dunn) attempts to brutally beat his wife, Enid (Sylvia Breamer), Major Robert Trevor (Robert Gordon) forces him to stop. Trevor knew Enid before he went off to war, and Solari hates him. While he was fighting in Europe, Trevor came into possession of some dye formulas which are desperately wanted by two foreign agents, Zu Paven (Louis Dean) and Madame Marechek (Margaret Barry). When he refuses to give the formulas to them, they plot to get their hands on them somehow. Meanwhile, Solari has threatened to shoot Trevor, and in the melee, Enid faints. Solari believes he has accidentally killed her and commits suicide. Trevor is accused of Solari's death and put in prison. Enid is captured by the foreign agents, but she escapes and gives startling testimony at Trevor's trial. The agents' evil plot is discovered through means of a Dictaphone and they confess. Trevor is freed and he unites with Enid.
