Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Blaze Glory was produced by Chuck Menville and Len Janson, stalwarts of the old Filmation cartoon firm. This animated delight is a satire of the Old West, replete with stock characters, cliched dialogue and the final showdown at High Noon. The technique used herein is "pixillation", a stop-motion process familiarized on the Gumby TV series. We suspect that the filmmakers were a bit pixilated as well. If you happen upon Blaze Glory, don't even think about leaving the room for a sandwich-the whole megillah is on and off the screen in a fast ten minutes.
