This program is part of a PBS series with host Bill Moyers, who explores the nature of the American soul with his special guests. Moyers turns to thinkers in the arts and sciences for insight into the myths, and the moral and ethical grounds, that inform American society. Among the featured guests are E.L. Doctorow, August Wilson, Michael Dorris, Barbara Tuchman, Louise Erdrich, T. Beny Brazelton, Willard Gaylin, Elaine Pagels, and F. Forester Church.
