Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Barbara Colby, better known as Bawbs (Bessie Barriscale), lives in the Blue Ridge mountains with her maiden aunt, a confirmed man-hater. Bawbs, however, does not share her aunt's prejudice, and when Ralph Gunther (Arthur Shirley) comes around, they fall in love. Gunther is an author in search of local color, and his romance with Bawbs is rocked by several events -- the aunt dies and it becomes known that Bawbs is rich; then she mistakenly believes that Gunther is unfaithful. She is courted by an old miser, Phinneas Bradley (Joe Dowling), who tries, humorously, to convince her that at least his spirit is young. But finally Bawbs realizes that Gunther is true and they are reunited. This type of Mary Pickford-like role did not take advantage of Bessie Barriscale's talents.
