Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Al Hoxie, the half-brother of Universal cowboy Jack Hoxie, starred in this low-budget silent Western as a ranch superintendent who discovers that his boss (Paul Hurst) is attempting to take over the neighboring spread by illegal means. Throwing his lot in with the neighbor Alfred Hewston and his daughter Ione Reed, Hoxie succeeds in bringing Hurst and his henchman Cliff Lyons to justice. Trading heavily on the Hoxie moniker, Battling Kid was one in a series of eight Western potboilers unceremoniously dumped on the independent states rights market by Gower Gulch producer Bud Barsky.
