Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Director Roger young adapts Par Lagerkvist's Biblical tale of redemption for the screen in this sprawling ReelzChannel mini-series shot on location in Tunisia, and starring Billy Zane. The story opens as common criminal Barabbas (Zane) is being prepared for crucifixion alongside Jesus Christ. When Pontius Pilate (Filippo Nigro) allows the people of Jerusalem to commute one prisoner's punishment, Barabbas walks away as Christ is nailed to the cross. Subsequently determined to hasten the fall of Rome, Barabbas becomes a devoted servant of God, and discovers the true meaning of salvation.
