Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Wily landowners are working as hard as they can to undermine the efforts of the People's Liberation Army to persuade the landless peasants of Manchuria to overthrow the old system. Between bribes and threats, they almost succeed in diverting the poor from taking the new message seriously. Fortunately, the Army propagandists are able to enlist enough on their side to fight the Kuomintang (Chiang Kai-Shek) army when it tries to take over the region. After victory over the Kuomintang army, getting the landowners to stand trial for their crimes is a sure thing.
