Bad Men of the Border (1945)
by Hans J. Wollstein review

A routine effort at best, Bad Men of the Border remains a typical example of Universal's declining interest in B-Westerns in the later part of World War II. Kirby Grant was a better crooner than actor and although he is personable enough, he just doesn't possess the aura of a cowboy star. The former bandleader/singer had replaced Rod Cameron as Universal's resident cowboy star, but his series proved substandard and the studio effectively canceled their B-Western unit after his departure in 1946. Grant rebounded, however, and later became the star of television's Sky King.
