A look at Wedgwood (conclusion). Brian Patterson, the CEO of the renowned British potterymaker, spends a week in a factory where workers are being replaced by robots. Those who remain think Patterson's a bull in a china shop. What's more, the machines that are replacing the workers don't work well at all, causing further resentment, as does a "point system" that determines who's fired ("You can't get sick," one worker tells him). "There's a great nervousness about this place," is how Patterson sums up the situation.
